Jimmy Kimmel to host 2016 Emmys

It’s official: Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting this year’s Emmys ceremony.

The late-night host confirmed it Monday, tweeting, “I am hosting the #Emmys on Sunday Sept 18. Until then, have a great summer.”

This will be his second time hosting solo, as Kimmel emceed the ceremony in 2012.

“Jimmy Kimmel is the consummate showman,” Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, said in a statement. “With Kimmel at the helm, expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder, and better-than-ever Emmy event.”

His “Jimmy Kimmel Live” is ABC’s longest-running late-night talk show, with 14 seasons.

The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on ABC on September 18.
