CLEARFIELD – Roadway improvement work will get under way mid-March on Route 2030 (Allport Cutoff) in Clearfield County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
The project will improve roadway integrity and ride quality. Route 2030 is currently posted for 10 tons and completion of the project should also allow PennDOT to eliminate that posting.
Signage for the project is being set this week, with traffic control set-up to follow. As weather permits, work will get started to improve drainage, update guiderail, reconstruct the roadway, pave and rehabilitate two structures over Moravian Run.
The work zone stretches along Route 2030 from Route 322 at Bigler to Route 53 at Allport.
Traffic control through the project will consist of short-term set-ups with flaggers enforcing an alternating, traffic pattern.
PennDOT expects the project to finish by the end of November, with all work weather and schedule dependent. Grannas Brothers Stone & Asphalt Company Inc. of Hollidaysburg is the contractor on this $7.7 million job.
Drivers are reminded to move through work zones with caution, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.
