Comedian Micah “Katt” Williams was arrested in Georgia on Monday in connection with an assault, according to authorities.
A spokesman with the Gainesville Police Department said police were called to a pool supply store, where they found Williams lying on the ground outside.
He had his hands behind his back as though he was waiting and ready to be arrested, Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said.
A store employee told police he and Williams had gotten into a verbal fight, and that Williams threw something at him and punched him.
Williams was taken into custody without incident and charged with battery, Holbrook told CNN in an email.
He is being held in jail on a $5,000 bond, the spokesman said.
