Clinton set to score key Hispanic endorsement

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus PAC is set to endorse Hillary Clinton for president on Monday, a day before the Super Tuesday contests.

Many of the individual members of the CHC have already publicly backed Clinton. On Friday, Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, the top ranking Latino House Democrat and the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, announced his support for Clinton.

Lawmakers representing the PAC will announce the endorsement of Clinton at a press conference on Monday morning at the Democratic National Committee offices.

The Hispanic vote is expected to be important in the general election, particularly given Republican front-runner Donald Trump’s comments on immigration and building a wall on the border with Mexico.

The CHC BOLD PAC bills itself as the fastest growing Democratic PAC dedicated to increasing the diversity of Latino leadership in the House and Senate.
