Who killed Salma Hayek’s dog?

Mystery swirls around the death of actress Salma Hayek’s dog, Mozart. He was found shot to death at her Washington state ranch last week.

The Mexican-American actress took to Instagram on Friday to memorialize her dog of nine years and plead for justice in his death.

“I haven’t posted for a week as I been mourning the death of my dog, Mozart, who I personally delivered out of his mother’s womb,” she posted. “He was found dead in my ranch last Friday with a shot close to his heart.”

“He loved his territory and never strayed away… he was the most loving and loyal companion. He didn’t deserve a slow and painful death.”

Hayek is passionate about animals and her ranch serves as a mini animal sanctuary. The 49-year-old star has several rescue dogs, a guinea pig, chickens and alpacas, just to name a few of the animals that call her ranch home.

Washington state police had not responded to CNN’s request for comment Saturday afternoon.
