‘Teen Wolf’ star joins ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ sequel

Tyler Hoechlin is the latest actor to join the cast of “Fifty Shades Darker,” the sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in the popular erotic romance adapted from E.L. James’ books.

Hoechlin will play Boyce Fox, the first author “Ana” signs as an editor at Grey’s publishing company, according to TheWrap. He’s a minor character in the books but his role will expand in the film.

James and Hoechlin confirmed the news via Twitter. Hoechlin said he is “happy and honored” to join the series.

Hoechlin is best known for playing Derek Hale in “Teen Wolf,” the popular MTV series. He had a recurring role in the CW show “7th Heaven.”

Hoechlin is the latest star to sign on to the sequel. Kim Basinger will play Grey’s Mrs. Robinson-esque lover, and “Dark Shadows” actress Bella Heathcote will appear in the film as one of Grey’s former flames, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They’ll be joined by returning co-stars Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Victor Rasuk, Rita Ora, Max Martini and Marcia Gay Harden.

The film is scheduled for release on February 10, 2017.
