James Kevin “Jim” Dickson of Clearfield died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born Feb. 24, 1967 in Philipsburg, the son of Mary R. Dickson of West Decatur and the late Brinton R. Dickson.
He had been employed as a bus driver and delivery driver for Taft Co., and as a mechanic for Seger’s Wheel Alignment. He was baptized Catholic.
Mr. Dickson enjoyed football, music and doing sound systems for different bands, and wrestling. He was an avid racing fan and a race car driver. He drove several tracks in the area.
He was a high school wrestler and state runner-up in 1981. He continued his wrestling career at Penn State Altoona Campus.
In his freshmen year, he won the PA Commonwealth State Championship. From there he went on to wrestle in the Pro Circuit, using the name of Gentleman Jim the Giant, where he wrestled many of the WWF stars.
Most of all, Mr. Dickson’s passion was spending time with his son, Aaron.
He is survived by his son, Aaron James Dickson, who resides with his mother, Kim (George) Dickson of Clearfield and two brothers, Bill Dickson and his wife, Mary of Clearfield and Steve Dickson and his wife, Kim of West Decatur.
Also surviving are two nieces, Stephanie Thomas and her husband, Ben and Brittany Slother and her husband, Doug; two nephews, Kevin Dickson and his wife, Emily and Billy Dickson and his wife, Amanda; and several great-nieces and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by his father, Brinton R. Dickson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home with Msgr. Henry Krebs officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
