State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred Feb. 17 on Apple Lane in Boggs Township. During the incident, someone allegedly used the victim’s credit card to order Dominos in Cedartown, Ga.
- On Feb. 11 an inmate was allegedly found to be in possession of a weapon at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Feb. 11 at a Polk Township residence. It allegedly involved a 15-year-old male suspect and a 9-year-old female victim and remains under investigation at this time.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Feb. 20-21 on Woomer Hill Road in Taylor Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged the windshield and headlights on a 1978 Chevrolet Scottsdale. - State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by deception that occurred Feb. 9 on Ira Lane in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, someone allegedly attempted to sell the victim a vacuum cleaner. The victim declined buying one but allegedly ended up writing a check to the actor for a Penn State scholarship that didn’t exist. Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud that occurred in the area of Park Avenue Extension.
- Police were requested to conduct a welfare check in the area of Jury Street.
- Police received a report about found drug paraphernalia on Washington Avenue.
- Police received another report about an alleged IRS scam. As a result, police would like to remind residents not to provide any personal information by phone, Internet or private messaging.
- Police assisted a motorist on River Road.
- Police assisted a State Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) park ranger with an incident on Kennedy Road behind S.B. Elliott State Park.
Sandy Township
- On Monday a bartender at Friendly Tavern alleged that a patron was asked to leave the bar. When he was leaving the parking lot the patron allegedly hit the bartender’s vehicle and then left the scene. Police located the Dodge Durango in the parking lot of Subway. When police approached the vehicle, they had to knock on the window several times to get a response from the driver. The 36-year-old DuBois man failed field sobriety testing and was transported to Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- On Monday police received a report about a suspicious male who was dressed in black in the area of Sylvan Heights. Police found the man walking in the area of Garden Grove Townhouses and when they identified him, it was discovered that the 29-year-old Hanes Drive man had warrants out for his arrest. He was transported to the county jail.
- A truck driver reported that while his truck was parked in the Pilot parking lot Monday, another truck hit it while it was making a U-turn. Minor damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
- A 28-year-old Brookville woman reported that while she was on the Bee Line Highway in front of McDonalds on Tuesday, her vehicle was hit by another vehicle that did not stop at the scene.
- A 60-year-old Treasure Lake man lost control of his vehicle due to a medical emergency Tuesday on the Bee Line Highway near the Interstate 80 interchange. This caused his vehicle to travel off the roadway, onto the railroad tracks and then come to a rest in brush. The man had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire department personnel, police said. Police noted that he refused medical treatment.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at a Maple Avenue residence on Tuesday.
- On Tuesday a 71-year-old Treasure Lake man alleged that a 26-year-old man who he allowed to stay with him was causing a disturbance. Upon police arrival, the accused was gone from the home. Police handled the situation without incident.
