Robert Merle McCullough, 92, of Curwensville died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 at Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing & Rehabilitation in Curwensville.
Born Aug. 31, 1923 in Brookville, he was the son of Irl D. and Rhoda (Grantz) McCullough.
He retired after 30 years of service from G.E. Erie Plant in the Parts Department. He was also a locksmith.
Mr. McCullough was a member of the Community Baptist Church of Curwensville. He also had attended the Zion Baptist Church in Ansonville.
He volunteered at Ridgeview Elder Care for more than 20 years. He enjoyed Blue Grass music.
He is survived by two step-children, Harry L. “Squeak” Fink and his wife, Lilly and Sandra K. Fink and her companion, Paul Zendek, all of Curwensville.
Also surviving are four step-grandchildren, Janette Lynn Fernandez, Jason Raymond Fink and his wife, Nissa, Jared L. Fink and Katrina L. Fink; four step-great-grandchildren, Paige Fink, Jessica Fernandez, Katelyn Rose Fink and Savannah Fink; and two sisters, Ruby M. Coffman and Margaret I. Coffman and a sister-in-law, Charlotte McCullough, all of Erie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea Blanche McCullough on June 25, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles O. McCullough; and a sister, Helen A. Canter.
Funeral services for Mr. McCullough will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Community Baptist Church of Curwensville, with the Rev. Todd T. Hogue officiating. Burial will be in the Watts Cemetery, Redden Hill, Bells Landing.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
