Zoo in Boston welcomes adorable ‘new kid on the block’

Is this the cutest kid ever?

A zoo in Boston this week welcomed a squee-worthy addition to its farm exhibit.

A baby Nigerian dwarf goat — named Chewbacca — was born to Leia and Lucky at Franklin Park Zoo’s barn. The ball of cuteness weighed in at just 4 pounds and was standing up within hours of her birth.

“We are thrilled to share the news of this birth and we hope people will stop by during this school vacation week to see this adorable new addition,” said John Linehan, president and CEO of the zoo, in a statement.

The goat, born Tuesday, is the pair’s second kid, making her the little sister. The zoo says Chewbacca is bright, alert and active.

According to the zoo’s website, Nigerian dwarf goats are noted for their wide range of color patterns and easy-going nature. They can be found all over the world, in both warm and cold climates.

We hope this little one stays warm — temps in Boston are dropping below 30 this week.
