Obituary Notice: Lucille I. Horn

Lucille I. Horn, 85, of Luthersburg died Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at her home. Born Oct. 29, 1930 in Brady Township, she was the daughter of the late Clair and Elva (Conrad) Frantz.

On April 2, 1948, she married Allison “Pete” Horn.  He preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 2006.

She retired from Christ the King Manor after 14 years of service.  Prior to that, she worked for Rola Jensen for 11 years and 22 years with Cameron Manufacturing.

She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, where she was very active in church affairs, especially the women’s auxiliary.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially with all of her grandchildren, and making quilts, embroidery and painting pictures.

She is survived by two daughters, Vivian “Sis” Bloom and her husband, Keith of Luthersburg and Emma Terwilliger and her husband, Bud of Brockway and a son, Allison “Al” Horn Jr. and his wife, Mary Lou of Rockton.

She is survived by three sisters, Irene Wolfe of North Tonawanda, NY, Mary Schriver of DuBois and Judy Galentine of Sykesville and three brothers, George and John Frantz, both of Luthersburg, and Don Frantz of DuBois.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special close friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bob” Horn and two granddaughters, Tammy Terwilliger and Carol Walker.

She was also preceded in death by nine sisters, Marie Kuntz, Mabel Tschopp, Leona Neiswonger, Ruth Frantz, Jennie Bierley, Janice Gregor, Virginia Kriner, Margaret Frantz and Ruby Frantz; six brothers, Henry Frantz, Donald Frantz Sr., Norman Peace, Lawrence Frantz, Perry Frantz and Carl Frantz; and her step-mother, Esther (Muth-Peace) Frantz.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. -4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Howe officiating.

Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
