Tip Leads in Fugitive’s Capture

CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the fugitive as Cassidy Kaizer, 32, of Hill Street, Reynoldsville. Kaizer was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list Feb. 8.

On July 21, 2015, Corporal Randall Young of the DuBois City Police Department filed a criminal complaint against Kaizer. He charged Kaizer with simple assault, M2, two counts; harassment, S, two counts; and disorderly conduct, S.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on July 18, 2015, officers were dispatched to a local establishment for a report about an alleged fight. Upon arrival witnesses told police that a female, later identified as Kaizer, had assaulted two other females for no reason.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered that Kaizer had allegedly grabbed both victims by the hair and slammed their heads off of the sidewalk. The victims also related that Kaizer had spit on one of them and bit the other in the face during the alleged assault. Officers eventually located Kaizer hiding underneath of a bed in an apartment.

A preliminary hearing was held Aug. 21, 2015, at which time all charges were held for court. On Jan. 28 Kaizer failed to appear at Criminal Call, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Shaw stated that on Feb. 9 DuBois City police received a tip regarding the location of Kaizer. At that time, officers went to the location and took Kaizer into custody. Kaizer was then turned over to the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department.

Shaw thanked the DuBois City police and the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance with this case. Shaw further acknowledged that Kaizer was located as the direct result of a citizen’s willingness to provide information to law enforcement.
