Roger L. Kopshina Sr., 68, of DuBois died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1947, a son of the late LeRoy and Marie A. (Lyons) Kopshina.
Mr. Kopshina worked in maintenance at Riverside Warehouse until his retirement in 2008.
He was an excellent woodworker. He enjoyed spending time with his wife doing carpentry and home maintenance. He also worked part-time doing plumbing work.
He was considered a “jack of all trades” and was creative with any project he worked on. He loved to ride motorcycles and mountain bikes.
Mr. Kopshina is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Kopshina, of 50 years, and to whom he was married Oct. 30, 1965.
He is survived by three children, Roger L. Kopshina Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Cary, NC, Betsy Schulz and her husband, Nobert of Delmar, Calif., and Kelly Williamson and her husband, Rick of Nolensville, Tenn.
He is also survived by four grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Brasseur and her husband, Gary of DuBois; one brother, Brad Kopshina and his companion, Karen Ross of DuBois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Mr. Kopshina’s wishes, there will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
