State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between Jan. 28 and Monday on King Lane in Knox Township. During the incident, someone damaged the wooden post to a mailbox and then fled the scene. Damage is estimated at $15, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime Tuesday or Wednesday on Sycamore Lane in Union Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged grass along both sides of Sycamore Lane. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of access device fraud that occurred Dec. 31, 2015 on Oakwood Drive in Rush Township. During the incident, someone had allegedly made a fraudulent account under the victim’s name and then several online purchases. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of attempted burglary that occurred Jan. 20 on Kane Street in Jones Township. During the incident, a male allegedly attempted to gain entry into an occupied residence by pushing in the window in the basement door. He then fled the scene; damage is estimated at $250, state police said. State police described the male as being Caucasian with a thin build and wearing a “baby blue” parka and a scarf. He is thought to be 25-30 years of age and approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall with light-colored facial hair. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a residence on Park Street for an alleged dispute. Police spoke to the parties involved and were able to handle the incident at the scene.
- Police were called to a business along South Third Street for an activated alarm. At the scene, police made contact with cleaning personnel who had accidentally set the alarm off.
- Police investigated a minor accident that occurred at the intersection of West Market Street and Turnpike Avenue. There was minor damage to both vehicles, and no injuries were reported as the result of the accident, police said.
- Police responded to Sheetz for a 5-year-old child who appeared to be unattended. Police arrived at the scene and located the mother who was also there.
- Police are investigating a report that a vehicle passed a school bus while it was stopped along North Second Street with its stoplights activated.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred at the Lawrence Park Village.
- Police received a report about a possible e-mail scam.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of loitering and prowling.
- Police assisted with a medical emergency in the Plymptonville area.
Decatur Township
- Police were dispatched to the Walton Street area for a male who was reportedly operating his wheelchair in the middle of the roadway and going back and forth into traffic. He was warned of his actions and advised not to re-enter the roadway again.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by deception in which a resident removed tires and rims from a vehicle he sold to a dealership before they picked it up. It was handled civilly, police said.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of medication from a Houtzdale resident.
- Police arrested two people for alleged drug violations after they were found in possession of paraphernalia and hashish in Decatur Township.
- Police are filing charges on a male who was repeatedly warned for allegedly operating his wheelchair in the middle of Route 53 and Lingle Street. The male allegedly refused to comply with police orders.
- Police were dispatched to Houtzdale for an alleged domestic situation. Further, a male called and reported to police that his mother-in-law wouldn’t vacate the area. Upon arrival it was handled civilly, police said.
