Lucille Butterbaugh, 92, of Tyrone and formerly of Osceola Mills, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at Olivia Village in Tyrone.
Born Jan. 27, 1924 in Supply, NC, she was the daughter of the late Harvey T. and Lovie M. (Fulford) Varnam.
She married Franklin O. Butterbaugh on April 9, 1946 in Conway, SC. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1991.
Mrs. Butterbaugh was a member of the Coal Run Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Osceola Mills.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, camping, fishing and making dolls.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ophelia Lancaster and Buena Phelps and two brothers, Talmadge Varnam and Hodges Varnam.
Mrs. Butterbaugh is survived by two sons, Jessie Ordell Butterbaugh and his wife, JoAnne of Osceola Mills and Allen L. Butterbaugh and his wife, Frannie of South Philipsburg; a sister, Virginia Norton of Shallotte, NC; and a brother, Cortland Varnam and his wife, Bobby of Supply, NC.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Lovie Marie Butterbaugh-Cates of Osceola Mills and Franklin L. Butterbaugh and his wife, Billie Jo of Gaffney, SC and four great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kayden Cates and Ember and Allen Butterbaugh.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Hiram Westover officiating. Burial will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
