CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield school board took action regarding its unused school buildings at Monday’s regular meeting.

The district consolidated its classrooms into the Clearfield Area Elementary School and the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School in 2014-15.

In August of 2015, the district auctioned off the contents of the former Clearfield Area Middle School and the Centre Elementary School. The district was unable to sell the former Centre Elementary School during or after its school building auction.

Additionally, the district has settled the Girard-Goshen Elementary School roof litigation. It currently isn’t using the former middle school and the two, former elementary school buildings.

On Monday the board first approved seeking bids for the demolition of the former middle school building.

It approved to auction the loose, surplus contents at the former Girard-Goshen Elementary School. It also approved to proceed with an auction of the former school building at the content auction with a reserve set on the sale.

The board approved retaining the former Centre Elementary School for purposes to be determined by the district.

Finally, the board approved for the administration to seek bids for the construction of a maintenance garage at the CAJSHS campus.
