New anti-Trump super PAC launches in Iowa

A new super PAC is spending $45,000 to send negative mailers about Donald Trump to Iowans, as establishment Republicans worry about the billionaire’s hold on the GOP race.

Our Principles PAC, a group former a week ago, on Wednesday declared its spending expenditures for “direct mail services” opposing Trump in Iowa, federal elections record show. The payment was to DDC Advocacy, a Washington public affairs firm.

The super PAC was founded by Katie Packer, the deputy campaign manager on Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, Politico reported Thursday.

Despite Trump’s dominance in the presidential race, outside groups have been very reluctant to spend major money against him thus far.
