Former ‘Power Rangers’ actor charged with murder

Former “Power Rangers” actor Ricardo Medina was arrested Thursday and charged with murder in the 2015 fatal stabbing of his roommate, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Ricardo Medina, 35, stabbed Josh Sutter multiple times with a sword on January 31, 2015, at a house the two men shared in Green Valley, the statement said.

The men allegedly got into an argument over Medina’s girlfriend and the argument turned physical, the statement said. Medina had told police the stabbing occurred after Sutter forced his way into Medina’s bedroom.

Medina called 911 after the altercation and was interviewed by detectives.

Medina is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. Prosecutors will ask that bail be set at $1 million, the statement said. If convicted, Medina could be imprisoned for 26 years.

After the stabbing occurred, TMZ was the first to identify Medina as the actor who played the Red Ranger in 2002’s “Power Rangers Wild Force.” He also appeared in “Power Rangers Samurai.”
