Richard “Dick” Neff, 78, of Irvona died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 in North Carolina.
Born April 17, 1937, he was the son of the late Dorothy Miles. He was married to Cherryln Fox, who died May 2, 1997.
He was employed as a mechanic for TYK of Irvona.
Mr. Neff was a member of the Richard L. Beers VFW Post No. 7043, Glendale Sportsmen’s Club, Coalport Moose Lodge No. 350, Croatian Club, Houtzdale Legion, AAASR, Irvona Rod and Gun Hunting Club, Coalport Lodge F&MA No. 574, and the JAFFA Shrine
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from March of 1957 until June of 1959. He is a former assistant fire chief of the Irvona Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by a daughter, Anita Beers and her husband, Kevin of Coalport; a grandson, Kevin Beers; a grandson, Brian Beers; and a companion, Jill Peacock and her children, Amy and Larry and their children.
Mr. Neff was preceded in death by his mother and wife.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona. A masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Fields officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, LaJose.
