Carolyn I. “Lynn” Franson, 64, of Clearfield died Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield after a brief illness.

Born Feb. 6, 1951 in DuBois, she was the daughter of Angelo Joseph and Joan Jean (Kosinski) Santini.

Mrs. Franson had first worked for Sylvania Electronics in Reynoldsville and then later for the former Sylvania Shortway Products in Clearfield.

After that, she was employed by the former County Market in Clearfield. She was retired from JG Food Warehouse in Clearfield after having worked in the meat department.

She was a 1970 graduate of the Clearfield Area High School. She was Roman Catholic by faith.

On Oct. 19, 1974 in the Trinity United Methodist Church of Clearfield, she wed David E. Franson, who preceded her in death on March 19, 2011.  She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are a son, David E. Franson II and his wife, Shaina of Curwensville; a grandson, Liam David Franson; and a brother, Ronald Santini and his wife, Mary of Huntersville, NC as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she was very close to.  She loved her family, especially her grandson, Liam.

Services for Mrs. Franson will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian officiating.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery of Clearfield.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Scripture Vigil Services will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105; the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund, P.O. Box 313, State College, PA 16804-0313; or the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield, PA 16830-0992.
