CLEARFIELD – The new Clearfield County board of commissioners reorganized for 2016 on Monday.
Commissioner John A. Sobel was voted to serve as chairman. Commissioner Tony Scotto was voted to serve as vice chairman.
In other business, the commissioners voted to
- re-appoint Lisa McFadden as chief clerk and Kim Kesner as solicitor.
- appoint Sobel to serve on the Clearly Ahead Development, GEO Group Inc., Moshannon Valley Prison and Community Connections boards.
- appoint Scotto to serve on the Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority, Community Action and Clearfield County Conservation District boards.
- appoint Commissioner Mark B. McCracken to serve on the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, Central Counties Youth Detention Center and PCHIPC boards.
- appoint GAI Associates as the county engineer.
- appoint Rhoads & Sinon of Harrisburg as special counsel for matters involving the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
- appoint Campbell, Durant, Beatty, Palumbo & Miller as legal representation for labor relations.
- approve a Master Consulting Services Agreement with CobraHelp.
The Clearfield County Salary Board reorganized after the commissioners’ meeting. Sobel was voted to serve as chairman, Scotto as vice chairman and Acting Controller Charles T. Adamson as secretary.
The board voted to meet at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month before the regularly scheduled commissioners’ meeting.
In other business, the salary board voted to
- approve the 2016 salaries of elected officials, which were set by the commissioners in 2014, except for that of the District Attorney. It was noted that the DA’s salary is set by the commonwealth.
- approve the 2016 salary for Solicitor Kim Kesner, which included a $750 pay increase over last year.
- approve the 2016 salaries of the county’s salaried employee group.
