Shown are members of the DuBois Area High School robotics team, which recently competed in the BEST Northern Plains Regional Championships in Fargo, N.D., for the third consecutive year.

The team took first place in the marketing presentation, in the Simulink award for programing the robot and in T-Shirt design and second place in Most Photogenic Robot award.

The BEST competition, which stands for Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology, is about problem solving. Students must design a robot to accomplish a series of tasks as presented each year by the national BEST organization.

However, the entire competition does not revolve around the robot. It also involves marketing and distributing information about the team’s robot to the public.

There are many aspects of the robotics team. The team has to market the robot, create the coding to program the robot and build a team exhibit to showcase the robot.

The DAHS Robotics team members would like to thank all of their sponsors and the DuBois Area School District for the all the support they received throughout the year.
