No charges were filed against a Hawaii man after his drone flew near President Barack Obama’s motorcade in Hawaii on Monday.
The drone was spotted hovering “car high” very briefly near the motorcade as it was driving by. The motorcade did not stop or slow down as a result, and the man flying the drone was approached by Secret Service.
“The subject was completely unaware that the Presidential motorcade would be transiting the area of operation and immediately complied with law enforcement requests to cease and desist,” Secret Service spokeswoman Nicole Mainor said in a statement. “No charges were filed. The motorcade proceeded without further incident.”
The President is on vacation in Hawaii with the first family.
