Trump demands Clinton apologize for ISIS video claim

Donald Trump is demanding Hillary Clinton apologize for saying that ISIS is using footage of him disparaging Muslims to recruit terrorists.

“I will demand an apology from Hillary,” Trump said Monday on NBC’s “The Today Show.” “I will demand an apology from Hillary, she should apologize. She lies about emails, she lies about Whitewater, she lies about everything. She will be a disaster as President of the United States.”

Clinton made the claim during Saturday night’s Democratic debate, but a spokeswoman later said they did not have a specific video of ISIS using clips of Trump disparaging Muslims, but instead pointed to social media comments from ISIS recruiters. CNN’s Reality Check Team also found there was nothing to support Clinton’s claim of an ISIS video showing Trump.

Trump said Monday that “she always lies,” but he defended himself when NBC’s Matt Lauer asked him if he was holding her to a double standard because he could not prove his claim that thousands of Muslims celebrated the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New Jersey after the World Trade Centers fell.

“Ive been totally exonerated from that, I’ve had headlines exonerating me and saying ‘Trump was right,'” Trump said.
