President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama landed in San Bernardino, California, late Friday to meet privately with injured victims and families of those killed in the mass shooting there in December.
The Obamas are expected to travel from there to Hawaii for their annual Christmas visit.
On December 2, Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik opened fire on a holiday gathering at the Regional Inland Center with long rifles killing 14 people and injuring 17 others.
The massacre was a terror attack, authorities have said.
U.S.-born Farook and Pakistan native Malik expressed commitment to Islamic jihad and martyrdom in direct, private online messages in late 2013, months before Malik moved to the United States to live with Farook, FBI Director James Comey has said.
Malik also pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Badghadi in a Facebook post as the San Bernardino attack was happening, three U.S. officials familiar with the investigation told CNN.
