PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – State police say a Punxsutawney man is facing multiple felony charges in connection with the alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

Punxsutawney-based state police say charges against 42-year-old Kevin M. Kight have been approved by Jefferson County District Attorney Jeffrey Burkett following an ongoing criminal investigation into the possession of child pornography.

Police say the investigation revealed that Kight was involved in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female in Punxsutawney during summer of 2015.

Kight reportedly admitted to the relationship during an interview at the state police barracks in Punxsutawney.

As a result, Kight has been charged with one count of statutory sexual assault, one count of aggravated indecent assault, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of corruption of minors, two counts of sexual abuse of children, two counts of criminal solicitation/sexual abuse of children and one count of indecent assault.

On Thursday Kight was taken into custody and arraigned before Judge Douglas Chambers. He was placed in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $150,000 straight cash bail.

State police say the investigation is not complete and additional charges involving a 4-year-old victim are expected to be filed.

Punxsutawney-based state police were assisted by members of PSP Indiana, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, Jefferson County Children & Youth Services, Indiana County Children & Youth Services and the Indiana County Child Advocacy Center.
