M. Virginia Plummer, 97, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 25, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry Edward and Sara Elizabeth (Schiefer) Imdorf.

Mrs. Plummer worked for Leitzinger’s Department Store, where she retired after 30 years of service.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was also an avid bowler.

Mrs. Plummer was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.

She was a member of the funeral committee. She helped with the Bazaar, assisted with the Lenten Luncheons and participated as a member of the Thursday morning Bible study.

Mrs. Plummer was the last member of her generation.

Her survivors include two sons, Frederick B. Plummer and his wife, Sigred of Houston, Texas and Kenneth E. Plummer and his wife, Carol of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and one daughter, Kathryn E. Wain of Clearfield.

Her survivors also include six grandchildren, Frederick B. Plummer III, Andrea Millaway, Kevin Wain and his wife, Debbie, Gregory B. Plummer and his wife, Jeanette, Jennifer Conway and her husband, Sean and Robert Plummer; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Frederick B. Plummer, who died Sept. 21, 1984; two brothers, James and Ellsworth Imdorf; two sisters, Lila Karrer and Helen Netwon; and one granddaughter, Renee’ Carol Wain.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Burial will be at Crown Crest Memorial Park.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday. An additional hour of calling will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
