U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team to Headline Inaugural Clearfield Co. Air Show

CLEARFIELD – David Schultz Airshows LLC of Clearfield has announced that the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team of Fort Bragg, NC will headline the inaugural Clearfield County Air & Car Show.

It will be held July 23, 2016 and will be the first-ever air show at the Clearfield Airport. The airport is located at 801 Airport Rd., just off of Exit 120 of Interstate 80, Clearfield.

The Army Golden Knights Parachute Team is expected to be joined at the event by numerous vintage aircraft from World War II and civilian aerobatic performers from all over the region.

Show coordinators also have plans for a classic car show and exhibitions during the event. Food and merchandise will also be available for sale.

Dave Schultz, president of David Schultz Airshows LLC and event coordinator, stated, “Bringing an aviation event to this part of Pennsylvania is long overdue.

“This event will help showcase the importance of the Clearfield Airport, as well as bring a world-class aviation event and car show for the region to enjoy during the summer of 2016.”

Schultz added, The Army Golden Knights received over 300 requests for performances in 2016. We are honored to have them at the Clearfield Air & Car Show this coming July.”

The Army Golden Knights are all members of the U.S. Army based in Fort Bragg, NC. They perform precision free-fall parachute demonstrations, including canopy relative work, cut-aways and other maneuvers while exiting aircraft 12,500 feet above the ground.

Schultz indicated that there are numerous sponsorship opportunities for this community event. “We strive to have the event as low-cost to the general public as possible. Plans are currently to have ticket prices no higher than $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12,” he said.

He said the event will not be possible without sponsorships, and he encouraged businesses and individuals to support this community event for summer of 2016. He said sponsorships range from $500 to a presenting sponsorship of $35,000.

David Schultz Airshows LLC is headquartered in Clearfield with offices in Atlanta, Ga. And Ada, Okla. In 2016, it will mark the 22nd year in airshow operations and productions.

Events will also be presented at the Westmoreland County Airshow, Latrobe; the Atlantic City Airshow; and at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.

Schultz Airshows LLC will be at more than two dozen other venues in 2016. These include Daytona Beach, Fla., Ocean City, NJ, Kirtland AFB, NM, Denton, Texas, Manassas, Va., NAS Kingsville, Texas, Claremore, Okla., and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
