The son of Allen and Esther (Green) Wisor, he was born May 13, 1932.
He quit school in the eighth grade to help support his family. He then joined the U.S. Army in 1949.
He later obtained his GED and graduated from Clearfield Area High School in 1969.
He was a welder by trade. He had worked at Clearfield Machine Co., where he retired in 1993.
Mr. Wisor attended the Lighthouse Evangelical Church in West Decatur. He was also a member of the U.S. Bowling Congress.
He is survived by his wife and three children, Debbie Potts and her husband, Ray of Virginia Beach, Va., Brenda English and her husband, Dan of Morrisdale and Denise Williams of Osceola Mills.
He is survived by seven grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy of Maryland, Ray Potts of Virginia, Cari Friend of California, Rob English of Morrisdale, Ashlee Wessel of Centre Hall, Renee Miller of Osceola Mills and Ryan Williams of Philipsburg.
He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle “Rook” Wisor; and two sisters, Karen Lumadue and Jane Peters.
Mr. Wisor was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alfred and Donald Wisor; two sisters, Delores Dixon and Dorothy Young; and a son-in-law, Richard “Rin” Williams.
His greatest joy in life was his family. He loved telling stories, singing, bringing on laughter and teasing his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid sports fan, he golfed and bowled and loved watching wrestling, football and baseball.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 5 p.m. Sunday at The Lighthouse Evangelical Church, 7993 Draine Hwy., West Decatur, with the Rev. Sam Maines officiating.
Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the church by the Clearfield Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospice, 440 Front St., Clearfield, PA 16830 or to someone in need as we celebrate Christmas and the birth of our Savior.
