Barbara L. Woolridge, 89, of Clearfield died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at UPMC Altoona.

She was born March 18, 1926, a daughter of the late William A.E. and Margaret (Wilson) Leitzinger.

Mrs. Woolridge retired as a licensed practical nurse at Nittany Valley Rehabilitation. Previously, she had worked at Christ the King Manor, Clearfield Hospital and The Progress.

She was also the vice-chairman of the Clearfield County Republican Committee. She will be sadly missed by her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Riley, which had been a true and faithful dog.

She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross, Girl Scouts and the Senior Center in Clearfield. She had also been an assistant leader of the Carasel Riders 4H Club, State College.

She is survived by four children, Nancy Jane Auten and her husband, Ronald of Dover, Del., Dr. J. Randall Woolridge of State College, David D. Woolridge and his wife, Diane of Clearfield and Margaret ‘Peggy’ Virginia Woolridge of West Palm Beach, Fla.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and their families, Mary Beth and Lindsay Auten; Sarah Shively and her husband, Mike and their daughters, Addison and Taylor; Jillian Brazetton and her husband, Chad and their two children, Ainsley and Ginger Woolridge; Leigh Woolridge and fiancée, Erika; and Doug and Elliott Woolridge; a brother-in-law, Dr. Peter Schoderbek of Iowa City, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ashley E. Woolridge, on May 3, 2004 and to whom she was wed Sept. 16, 1948 in Clearfield.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, William and Andrew Woolridge; a sister, Clara Schoderbek; and a brother, Dr. William A.E. Leitzinger Jr.

A memorial mass will be said at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Fr. John Miller as celebrant. Burial will be private in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
