James E. “Pappy” Hilliard, 92, of DuBois died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at his residence to be with his God, Jesus Christ.
He was born July 17, 1923, the son of the late Merle and Freda (Kelly) Hilliard.
Mr. Hilliard enjoyed going on car rides, singing and watching old westerns. He also enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays. It was rare to see Mr. Hilliard without a coffee cup in hand.
Survivors of James Hilliard include his niece, Jean Warnick and all of his friends and family at Fayette Resources.
Mr. Hilliard was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Arthur Hilliard; and two sisters, Ruth Gregori and Dorothy Fullerton.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc. with Pastor Phil Colgan officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
