Clearfield School Board Oks Budget Resolution, Reorganizes

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield school board voted to approve its 2016-17 budget resolution during Wednesday night’s re-organizational meeting.

It approved the resolution, stating the district will not exceed its Act I index of 3.4 percent during the budget process, said Superintendent Terry Struble.

Business Administrator Sam Maney indicated that 3.4 percent equaled just a little more than 3 mills.

“It’s not saying that the district will raise taxes,” said Struble. “It’s just saying that we’ll stay within our index.”

In other business, the board voted to approve Larry Putt and Mary Anne Jackson as its president and vice president, respectively, for the upcoming year.

The board also approved the 2016 schedule for work sessions and regular voting meetings.

The 2016 work sessions will be held Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 21, April 18, May 16, June 20, Aug. 15, Sept. 19 and Oct. 17.

The regular voting meetings will be held Jan 25, Feb. 22, March 28, April 25, May 23, June 27, Aug. 22, Sept. 26 and Oct. 24.

In 2016, the board will hold combined meetings on July 25 and Nov. 21. It will hold its re-organizational meeting on Dec. 7, 2016.

All meetings will be held at 6 p.m. in the library at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
