Isabelle J. “Jean” Peavy, 90, formerly of Clearfield and most recently a resident of Nelsons Golden Years, DuBois, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at the home.
Mrs. Peavy was born Aug. 3, 1925 at Woodland, the daughter of Irvin R. and Fama Zoe (Stevens) Stewart.
She had worked at various retailers in Clearfield and most recently the former Brody’s.
Mrs. Peavy was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield.
She is survived by three children, Philip E. Peavy Jr. and his wife, Karen of Lebanon and Deborah Graham and her husband, Gary and Cynthia Peavy and her companion, Kenneth Danver, all of Clearfield.
She is survived by seven grandchildren, Bryan, Bradley and Matthew Graham, Philip E. Peavy III, Erin McFeaters and Jessica and Erika Peavy; seven great-grandchildren;, a brother, Jimmie L. Stewart and his wife Peggy of Richardson, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peavy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Philip E. Peavy Sr., who died Dec. 3, 1993. They married Sept. 28, 1946 in Frenchville by the Rev. Carl L. Lippert.
She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Maureen Kay Peavy; a sister, Olive Mae Gilliland; and two brothers, Irvin R. Stewart Jr. and George W. Stewart.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the West Side United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Frenchville.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the West Side United Methodist Church, 317 Nichols St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
