Obituary Notice: Patrick J Flanagan III

Patrick Joseph Flanagan III, 66, of Clearfield died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.

Born Aug. 19, 1949, he was the son of Patrick Joseph Jr. and Betty (Moyer) Flanagan.

Mr. Flanagan was the chief operator of the water treatment plant for the Clearfield Municipal Authority. He was a member of the Hepburnia United Methodist Church in Grampian.

He was a life member of the Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department and had been a member of the former Third Ward Hose Co. He was a former league bowler and enjoyed golfing and hunting.

On June 2, 1973 in the Hepburnia United Methodist Church, he wed the former Doris Pentz, who survives, along with three children, Chad Flanagan and his wife, Sharon of Clearfield, Carrie Ann Flanagan and spouse Tami of Benezette and Christie Graham and her husband, David Jr. of Frenchville.

Also surviving are two grandchildren, Nicholas and Abigail and three brothers and two sisters, Dennis “Bernie” Flanagan and his wife, Pam of Clearfield, Sue Irwin and her husband, Chuck of Erie, Mary Beth Flanagan Lanich of Olanta, James “Duke” Flanagan of Mahaffey and Mark Flanagan of Lancaster.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Debra Smeal.

Funeral services for Mr. Flanagan will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev. J. Robert Mellgard officiating.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
