Betty Lucille Merritt, 82, of Morrisdale died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 at her residence. Born Sept. 26, 1933 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Aleatha McGuire Hubler.
Ms. Merritt was a member of the Palestine United Methodist Church, Morrisdale. She retired from the Rowland Theater, Philipsburg, after working there for more than 20 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim Denochick of Philipsburg and Charlene Hubler of Morrisdale and three sons, Stan Wills and Dave Hubler, both of Morrisdale, and Dit Wills and his wife, Sherry of Clearfield.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Askey of Philipsburg and Gertrude Ferguson of Morrisdale; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Merritt was preceded in death by a grandson, Rowdie Wills; a son-in-law, Steve Pepperday; and two brothers, Harold and Calvin Hubler.
A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine United Methodist Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
