CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors approved to adopt the resolution as presented by township solicitor James Naddeo, to amend the township Zoning Ordinance No. 125. Changes include:
- Adding conditional and permitted uses to most zoned areas for churches.
- Changing light manufacturing and Industrial Parks for Industrial-Limited Special Zoning from permitted use to conditional use
- Adding the definition of a shed as a single-story building being 12 feet by 16 feet, 192 square feet, with a side yard of 8 feet and a rear yard of 10 feet.
- Changed zone districts from Residential/Suburban to Commercial for land parcels owned by Ronald P. Dunkel, et al, Trustee, Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pyramid Healthcare Inc., Clearfield County Industrial Development and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Changed Zoning from Residential/Suburban to Industrial Limited zone for parcel owned by RJ Corman Railroad Co.
After a public hearing held Monday night regarding the proposed zoning changes, two parcels owned by Kurtz Brothers were removed from the list for zone redistricting.
Cliff Reed, owner of Reed Ventures, LLC, applied for a Conditional Use for Light Manufacturing for Hydro-Spray manufacturing and service facility on Washington Avenue, Hyde. A brief public hearing was held prior to Tuesday night’s meeting regarding the conditional use request. The supervisors approved the Zoning Conditional Use for Reed Ventures for light manufacturing.
Reed had been approved for the same conditional use zoning in September for the business he then planned to locate at Rockton Mountain Highway.
Reed said he decided to open the Hydro-Spray business in Hyde, adding that the storefront will be a compliment to the Hyde community and available to walk-in customers. Reed said the business will provide car wash maintenance and repair service, plus hydraulic hose and pressure washer repair services. The main business will be light manufacturing, metal fabricating and wholesaling for car wash parts and equipment.
Roadmaster Ron Woodling reported that Friday is last day the leaf vacuum machine will to be out to clean up raked leaves. Bagged leaves will still be picked up, he said. Residents may call the township office to arrange for pickup.
The supervisors approved to hire Jeff McClintock and Gary Shaw as full-time, seasonal road crew for the winter, starting Nov. 18 with hourly rate of $13.73.
The supervisors also approved to supply Clearfield School District with winter road materials for the school sites.
