Dorothy M. Rothrock, 88, a resident of Mountain Laurel Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield and formerly of Philipsburg, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 at Penn Highlands Hospital Clearfield.
Mrs. Rothrock was born April 24, 1927 in Mifflin County, but was raised in Chester Hill. She was a daughter of the late John and Bertha (Smiley) Collins.
She was a Protestant by faith, enjoyed walking and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Rothrock was a 1944 graduate of the Philipsburg High School. She was employed for 22 years with the General Cigar Company in Philipsburg until retiring.
She wed Carl P. Kardolly on Sept. 1, 1946 in Philipsburg. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1954. She then married Clark E. Rothrock in 1989, and who preceded her in death in 1994.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, John J. Kardolly, four sisters and five brothers. She was the last of her generation.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. Pritchard of Philipsburg; two granddaughters, Sonya Pritchard of Downingtown and Lauren Pritchard of Philipsburg; three great-grandchildren, Cayla Kolbe, Ryann and Liam Folmar; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Kardolly of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mrs. Rothrock will be held on a future date to be announced. At Mrs. Rothrock’s request, there will be no public visitation. Burial will be at Philipsburg Cemetery.
