CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Nov. 9.

Shaw identified the fugitive as Joshua Cribbs, 33, of Church Street, Dubois. Cribbs is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on Oct. 29.

On April 27 Officer David Tracy of the Dubois City police filed a criminal complaint. He charged Cribbs with home improvement fraud, F2; theft by deception, F3; and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, F3.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on June 4, 2014, Tracy contacted the victim who alleged that Cribbs had received advance payment for a home improvement project. However, the victim said that Cribbs had allegedly failed to perform the work.

The victim told police that Cribbs had allegedly received a down payment for the purchase of materials to complete the home improvement project. Cribbs allegedly failed to purchase any of the materials for the project.

Numerous attempts to contact Cribbs regarding the project resulted in no response, the victim alleged to police. Despite further efforts to resolve the matter, Cribbs allegedly continued to neither provide the victim with payments nor complete the project.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 29, at which time all charges were held to court. On Oct. 29, Cribbs failed to appear at Criminal Call, and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Cribbs is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with knowledge of Cribbs’ location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
