The Chris Christie, Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee campaigns are holding their breath as they await a new Fox News poll that could alter the lineup of the Fox Business GOP debate on November 10.
Fox News Channel will release a new national Republican primary poll on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. That survey is likely to be the last poll released before the polling window for the debate closes at midnight.
Fox Business Network previously announced that candidates must clear a 2.5% average in the four most recent national polls through November 4 in order to make the main stage next Tuesday. At present, Christie and Paul both sit right on the bubble with 2.5% averages, while Huckabee has a 2.75% average.
If the new Fox News poll knocks any of those candidates below the 2.5% average, they are almost certain to be relegated to the 6 p.m. undercard round, alongside Lindsey Graham, Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum and George Pataki.
Fox Business Network said it will announce the official lineup for both the 6 p.m. undercard and 8 p.m. primetime debates on ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight’ at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
