Almost everyone now uses Facebook on their phone

Facebook has been criticized for not having a good mobile strategy, but those days seem to be long gone.

The vast majority of people are now using Facebook on their phones, the company said Wednesday.

Of the 1.6 billion people who use Facebook, about 1.4 billion of them — or 90% — are on mobile.

Plus, about 80% of the company’s ad-revenue now comes from mobile, according to Facebook’s latest earning report.

Facebook’s growth has been steady, picking up about the same amount of new users in each of the past four quarters.

Three years ago, before Facebook went public, less than 500 million people were using it on their phones.

“We had a good quarter and got a lot done,” Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement.

Facebook brought in $4.5 billion in sales, a 41% increase, and $896 million in profits, up 11%.

Wall Street was happy with the results. Shares rose about 4% in after-hours trading.
