At Fort Bragg, suicide bomber costume prompts emergency response

A soldier, apparently wearing a suicide bomber costume for Halloween, spurred an emergency response at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, on Friday night.

“Last evening a Soldier attempted to gain access to Fort Bragg through one of our access control points,” the military base posted on Facebook (it has since been taken down, according to Military.com).

“The Soldier was dressed as a suicide bomber with simulated explosive vest. The incident resulted in an emergency response, EOD clearing the entire scene and an extended closure of a gate. Although the incident remains under investigation, initial reports indicate it was a Halloween costume.”

The incident is under investigation, according to CNN affiliate WTVD.

Fort Bragg is in southeastern North Carolina, near Fayetteville.
