Deloris J. Hoover, 83, of Curwensville died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at the UPMC Altoona.

She was born Oct. 11, 1932 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clinton and Ann Spencer.

Mrs. Hoover retired from Kent’s Sportswear after 35 years of employment and had previously worked at McGregor’s Sportswear.

Mrs. Hoover loved to tend to her flowers and paint various pictures and decorative pieces. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Hughy A. Hoover, to whom she was wed Sept. 22, 1952. She is survived by two children, Chuck Hoover and his wife, Sue of Clearfield and Valerie Ireland and her husband, Mike Sr. of Curwensville.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kristy Strishock and her husband, Mark, Cory Hoover and his wife, Megan, Angela Ireland and Michael Ireland Jr. and his wife, Joy; eight great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jakob, Jasa, Jackson, Grace, Jaelynn, David and Alessia; and three brothers, Max Spencer, Melvin Spencer and his wife, Norma and Denny Spencer and his wife, Doris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Clark, Midge Mahlon and Cleda Peters and three brothers, the Rev. Clinton Spencer Jr., Hobert Spencer and Donald Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
