Kevin Ronald Hoover, 49, of Curwensville died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 22, 1965 in Livingston, NJ, he was the son of Edward and Kathryn (Lininger) Hoover.

He was a 1983 graduate of the West Branch Area School and a 1989 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.

He was employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a senior civil service engineer, where he had worked for the last 28 years. He was a member of the Curwensville Moose and Snowshoe Rails to Trails.

In the company of his family and friends, he enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, golfing, attending Pittsburgh Pirates games and NASCAR races.

One of his greatest pleasures was being able to share and attend all of his son’s many activities that included wrestling tournaments, football, baseball and all-star games, band concerts, fishing and four-wheeling.

On Aug. 19, 1996 in Hollidaysburg, he wed the former Lisa Nale, who survives of Curwensville, along with a son, Spencer James Hoover at home.

Also surviving are  his parents, Edward and Kathryn (Lininger) Hoover of Morrisdale; a brother, Gregg Hoover and his wife, Abigail of Pen Argyl; aunts and uncles, Bryon Lininger and his wife, Mary of Stroudsburg; M. Jean Williams and  Mary Homman and her husband, Wilford, both of Morrisdale; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Hoover will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with Pastor Stanley Wisor officiating.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Spencer James Hoover Trust fund that has been set up at the Clearfield Bank and Trust Co. in care of the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., 300 State St., Curwensville, PA 16833.
