Ian W. Curry, 40, of Curwensville died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015. He was born March 16, 1975 in Clearfield, a son of Lex W. Jr. and Linda J. (Campbell) Curry.
He was a 1993 graduate of the Curwensville High School, where he was active with the golf team. He had been employed at Bob’s Army & Navy, Clearfield, and Dunham’s, DuBois.
Mr. Curry was a member of the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, the Curwensville Rescue Hose & Ladder and the Cub Pack 13 and Troop 13 of Curwensville.
He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Nobel Lodge No. 480, where he was serving as junior warden. He was also an Eagle Scout and the youth chairman for Polar Bear 1991. He was a graduate of Hurricane Island Outward Bound. He also attended the National Jamboree in 1989.
He was a vigil honor member of the Order of the Arrow Bucktail Council.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Curry is survived by his sister, Tenley Barrett and her husband, Brian of Grampian; a niece, Lexi; aunts and uncles, Connie and William Wetzel of Curwensville and Suzanne and Charlie Rumfola of Clearfield; a great-aunt, Jane Jacqueline Fowler of Clearfield; and numerous cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, with Fr. Mark Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville.
A Masonic Service will be held at 6 p.m. and a Christian Vigil Service will be said at 7:45 p.m., both Thursday at the funeral home.
