Jessie (Richey) Hoffman, 97, of Burlington, NC, and formerly of Ramey, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at Twin Lakes Healthcare, Burlington, NC.
Born May 12, 1918 in Coraopolis, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Pearl (Heidler) Richey.
On March 30, 1940, she married John M. “Pen” Hoffman in Wellsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of the Ramey United Methodist Church, where she was a past president of the United Methodist Women and a Sunday school teacher.
She was a local precinct worker during elections, and she planned and stitched a Bi-Centennial quilt, which was given to the White House in 1976. She was a member of the Order of Easter Star for more than 50 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Dziadosz of North Carolina and Kathleen Walker of Oregon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoffman, a daughter, Joyce Hoffman and a sister, Verne Ammon.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. Thursday at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation, Ramey. Private graveside services will follow.
