Railroad Work Will Close a Section of Route 36 Oct. 24-26

Detour will be in effect

CLEARFIELD – A section of Route 36 in Chest Township, Clearfield County, will be closed Oct. 24-26, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Railroad crossing work will close the road just north of the village of Westover.

The closure is necessary so that crews from the RJ Corman Railroad can replace the railroad crossing surface, reconstruct the rail bed, and pave the roadway approaches.

A detour will be in place during the three-day closure. Drivers will use Route 3014 (North Camp Road), Route 3003 (Punkin Ridge Road) and Route 3006 (Westover Road).

Work is expected to be finished in the late hours of Oct. 26. All work is weather dependent. PennDOT reminds drivers to follow all detour signs, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
