Obituary Notice: William J. Buterbaugh

William J. Buterbaugh, 81, of Troutville and formerly of Brockway, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at his home. Born Aug. 14, 1934 in Brockway, he was the son of the late William G. and Florence P. (Everett) Buterbaugh.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He made his home with his companion, Diane Galentine, for more than 40 years.

He was a school van driver for Jewell Bus Company. Prior to that, he was a roofing contractor. He had also worked at the General Pershing Hotel.

He enjoyed working on cars and playing the lottery.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Bailey of DuBois; his brother, Raymond Everett of Indiana, Pa.; and his best friend, his dog, “Little Man.”

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Buterbaugh and his sister, Florence Quigley.

Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Sherwood officiating.

Burial will be in Beechtree Cemetery.
