State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred sometime between Aug. 11 and Oct. 11 on Sylvan Grove Road in Cooper Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole numerous items, including 13 cast iron skillets, a cast iron griddle, a meat grinder, a come-a-long, logging chains and copper pipe, from the victim’s garage. State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of aggravated assault Wednesday on Cemetery Road in Union Township. During the incident, someone allegedly fired a pellet from an air rifle, and it struck the victim in his back. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred Oct. 9 at Weis Market in Philipsburg Borough. Further, an electric cart was alleged to be stolen; upon investigation state police found a theft hadn’t occurred.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Wednesday on South Eighth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 21-year-old Philipsburg man allegedly engaged in an argument with the victim over her cell phone. The man allegedly grabbed her leg and then her by the throat and her arm. Charges have been filed through the district court, state police said.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft from a motor vehicle that occurred Tuesday on Hemlock Street in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s vehicle and removed money for their purse. State police noted that two, young males were allegedly observed near the vehicle, and they took when a family member came outside. They were seen wearing dark-colored sweatshirts and pants. - State police received a report about an accident that occurred Wednesday at the intersection of Ninth and Railroad streets in Philipsburg Borough. Further, a vehicle operated by Helen S. Knepp of Morrisdale approached the intersection and faced a steady red signal. The Knepp vehicle continued into the intersection and was struck by a vehicle operated by Edward O. Millinder of West Decatur. Upon impact the Knepp vehicle overturned before coming to a final rest on its wheels. Occupants of the Knepp vehicle were taken to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of injuries; Millinder wasn’t injured in the accident, state police said. Both operators were wearing their seatbelts; however, Knepp’s passenger was not. State police were assisted at the scene by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services, the Hope Fire Company and Philipsburg Fire Police.
Clearfield Borough
- Police unlocked a vehicle for its owner along East Locust Street.
- Police received a report that a car was allegedly scratched in the borough.
- Police investigated an alleged theft along Turnpike Avenue. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- Police assisted emergency personnel with a male who was having suicidal thoughts along East Market Street. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment via communication. Both parties were warned of their actions and advised to cease contact with one another, police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police assisted a stranded female who was at the truck stop.
- Police received a report about speeding vehicles on Coal Hill Road after school hours.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment and disorderly conduct at the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center. Further, one juvenile student allegedly assaulted another juvenile student, police said.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male in the Clearfield area who may have suffered from a medical issue.
Decatur Township
- Police received a barking dog complaint that occurred along the Drane Highway.
- Police received a report about a mailbox that was allegedly struck along Lingle Street in Osceola Mills. Further, police believe that the suspect vehicle is a pick-up truck.
- Police received two, different reports about items that were allegedly stolen. First, a package was allegedly stolen that was delivered to a Decatur Township residence. Also, a cell phone was allegedly stolen in Houtzdale.
- State police at Clearfield were assisted by responding to a man who was laying on his porch. Upon arrival police found he was experiencing a medical issue and had emergency personnel respond to the scene.
- Police assisted a motorist who was stranded at the intersection of Brisbin and Elizabeth streets in Houtzdale.
- Police responded to a psychological emergency in Houtzdale. Crisis caseworkers were summoned to the scene to speak with the individual, police said.
- Police responded to three, different incidents involving a male who was allegedly being disorderly with his roommate. After being warned twice, the male who was allegedly intoxicated was transported to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police received a report about a reckless driver who was allegedly under the influence and operating their vehicle on Route 53. However, the vehicle was gone upon police arrival in the area.
- Police reported that a safe was located in a secluded part of the woods in Decatur Township. It allegedly contained various needles, which were believed to contain prescription drugs. Also, the safe allegedly contained a bent spoon with residue on it. Police have taken custody of the safe.
- Police reported that an iPod was turned into the station. Further, police were able to locate the owner.
- Police received a report about a mailbox that was allegedly damaged on Martins Road. Police believe that a pick-up truck struck the mailbox.
- Police responded to the Goodwill Store, where a vehicle was parked, and its passenger had pressed the OnStar button. Police checked the welfare of the male and determined that he was unharmed and in good health.
- Police were asked to assist a female in an alleged child custody dispute along Teutonic Avenue in Houtzdale. However, the female didn’t have the proper paperwork to be able to remove the child.
- Police assisted Centre County Probation with taking a male into custody for a probation violation. He was transported to the CCJ.
- Police were dispatched to the Harbor Inn for an alleged domestic dispute. However, a female who was involved refused to press charges, police said.
- Police responded to McDonald’s to remove two unwanted persons who were allegedly there but who had been asked to leave. The persons left upon police request.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday police were dispatched to Beaver Drive for a mental health issue. Further, police were able to assist a male who was upset.
- Police were dispatched to West Long Avenue Wednesday for the alleged theft of property. The complainant told police that a known male had stolen a lock box belonging to him. Police were able to determine that it was not stolen, and that a mutual friend had given the lock box to the suspect because she did not want it in her apartment. The lock box was returned to the owner, police said.
- Police were dispatched to the parking lot across from Coyote Joe’s for a hit-and-run accident Wednesday. The vehicle owner stated that she parked in the lot and went into Shankle’s Pharmacy; upon returning there was obvious damage to her vehicle. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact the DuBois City police at 814-765-1533.
- On Wednesday police were dispatched to Olive Avenue for an alleged intoxicated male who was refusing to leave the residence. Police made contact with the male who was identified as Gary Lee Pounds Jr. upon arrival. The complainant alleged to police that he had threatened to kill her before walking out of the apartment. The complainant, according to police, has an active Protection from Abuse Order against Pounds. Pounds was arrested for the PFA violation and placed in the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police were dispatched to Arminta Street to assist mental health delegates with a suicidal female on Wednesday. The female was later transported without incident to the Brookville Hospital for treatment, police said.
