State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an accident Tuesday on Barrett Road in Bradford Township. Further, a vehicle operated by James M. Hicks of Falls Creek was traveling west when he attempted to make a left-hand turn in front of a vehicle operated by Amy L. Murgash of Clearfield. As a result, the Murgash vehicle impacted that operated by Hicks in the middle of the roadway. No injuries were reported, and all occupants were wearing their seatbelts, state police said. State police were assisted by towing services at the scene.
- State police received a report about an alleged theft that occurred sometime between Oct. 8 and Monday on Nearhoof Lane in Decatur Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed a large metal skid wrapped heavy metal mesh that was full of empty tar buckets. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an accident Tuesday on Interstate 80 westbound at mile-marker 103.8 in Union Township. Raymond R. Dixson of Morrisdale was traveling in the right-hand lane when a deer entered the roadway. The Dixson vehicle impacted the deer and continued traveling westbound, crossing the right fog line and coming to a final rest on the shoulder.
- State police received a report about an alleged theft that occurred Oct. 9 on Sugar Hill Road in Washington Township. Further, the victim told state police that a check had been stolen from her purse and then cashed for $60. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- State police received a report about an accident Tuesday on Egypt Road in Polk Township. Further, a tri-axle operated by Robert E. Doane of DuBois was stopped along the right edge of the roadway and partially on the shoulder with its hazard lights on. It was waiting for another tri-axle to pull out of a dirt roadway. At the same time, a vehicle operated by Andrew N. Kuch of Brookville was traveling north and collided with the rear end of the tri-axle without braking for an undetermined reason. Kuch’s vehicle sustained severe damage, while the tri-axle had moderate damage; both were towed from the scene, state police said. Kuch was taken to Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital via ambulance and then flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Kuch, according to state police, had sustained unknown injuries and possibly from a medical condition. State police were assisted at the scene by the Warsaw Fire Department, Brockway Ambulance, Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services and towing services.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Oct. 8 on Walnut Street in Rush Township. During the incident, the victim told state police that they were harassed by the accused; both the victim and the accused were juveniles.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Tuesday at the American Legion in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a Philipsburg woman allegedly struck the victim in face, which caused her glasses to break. Charges of harassment and criminal mischief were filed against the woman through the district court, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to several vehicle break-ins that allegedly occurred in the High Street and Capricorn Drive area. Police have suspects and the incidents remain under investigation at this time.
- Police responded to a burning complaint on Pine Street. Upon arrival police located a female who was burning household items. She was advised to put out the fire, which she complied to.
- Police responded to East Locust Street for a report about kids who were on a neighbor’s porch. Police located the kids on the sidewalk, and they were advised of the complaint.
- Police had a cell phone turned into them after it was located along South Second Street. Police were able to notify the owner that the phone was turned into the station.
- Police received a report about large chunks of concrete that were thrown and broken in the parking lot of a local business along East Locust Street.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident along Turnpike Avenue. One vehicle had to be towed from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a male who had allegedly attempted to gain entry into a residence along Martin Street.
- Police responded to an activated alarm along Spruce Street. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police responded to an alleged dispute along Spruce Street. Upon arrival police determined that no altercation had taken place.
- Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute along East Sixth Street. Upon arrival police determined that a male and female had engaged in a verbal argument, and they were warned for their actions.
- Police assisted a driver who had locked their keys inside their vehicle along Bigler Avenue.
- Police assisted the fire department with a possible fire along West Locust Street. The complaint was unfounded, police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police were called to check the welfare of two juveniles who were pushing their bikes along Route 879. Upon arrival police found both juveniles to be OK.
- Police received a report about a minor traffic accident at Wal-Mart.
- Police assisted emergency personnel at a Hyde residence.
Sandy Township
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance Monday in the parking lot of Snappy’s Convenience Store. Upon arrival police located a 29-year-old New Jersey man and his 30-year-old girlfriend. Both allegedly admitted to arguing and pulling over to work it out. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Monday Treasure Lake Security alleged that someone cut and damaged targets at the archery range.
- A 29-year-old man was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly hit and choked a known 30-year-old man Tuesday at the Sandy Township Park. Minor injuries were reported by the victim, police said.
- A 27-year-old DuBois man was allegedly found highly intoxicated in his vehicle on Forest Avenue Tuesday after police received a report about loud music coming from it. The man was charged with public drunkenness and turned over to a friend for the night, police said.
DuBois City
- Police were dispatched Monday to the 1000 block of Green Glen Drive for an alleged prowler. Upon arrival police were unable to find a prowler; however, they made contact with the caller to check her home for anything suspicious. Police didn’t find anything out of the ordinary.
- Police received a report about a three-vehicle accident Monday at the intersection of North Brady Street and East Scribner Avenue. Upon investigation police determined that a vehicle operated by a Hyde woman had failed to stop for a red light. Her vehicle subsequently struck two others operated by DuBois women on Scribner Avenue. No injuries were reported as a result, and the vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- On Monday police received a report from a 21-year-old DuBois man about an alleged theft of medications. He told police his medications were left in a friend’s vehicle. When he attempted to have the medications returned the man said his friend refused to. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a burglar alarm Monday at the IP&S Club on West Washington Avenue. Upon arrival police located cleaning personnel inside.
- Police have initiated investigations into reports about alleged thefts from motor vehicles. A woman told police she had electronics taken from her vehicle while it was parked in a driveway overnight. Also, a man told police that nearly $6,000 worth of tools and building materials were taken from his vehicle while it was parked in a driveway overnight.
- Police were contacted by a Reynoldsville woman who had reported her 16-year-old son missing to the Reynoldsville Borough police. She had received information that he may be at a Knarr Street residence and requested for police to check for him. Upon arrival police located the missing teen, and he was returned to his mother.
- Police received an iPhone from a woman who found it on the walkway and turned it in at the station. It is either an iPhone 4 or 4S, which is white in color; it has a cracked screen and a passcode lock. The iPhone may be claimed by calling the DuBois City police.
