Kenneth Garland Reigel, 69, of Hyde died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at Ridgeview Elder Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Curwensville.
Born Oct. 23, 1945 in Kane, he was the son of Robert M. and Anna (Haight) Reigel. He was a graduate of Kane Area High School, where he was a member of the 1962 undefeated varsity football team.
He was retired from American General Life Insurance Company, where he worked for numerous years; he was the general manager of the Hyde office for years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member or former member of the following organizations: the Clearfield American Legion Post 6, the Clearfield B.P.O.E No. 540, the Clearfield VFW, the Clearfield SOI, the Clearfield Eagles Aries No. 812 and the Curwensville VFW No. 842.
He played in numerous pool leagues and softball leagues. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed sports of all kinds.
He is survived by four children, Keri Reigel Bruner and her husband, Philip of Curwensville, Ryan Reigel of Philadelphia, Shannon Livergood and her husband, Shawn of Grassflat and Derek Reigel of Clearfield.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Misti, Justice, Legend, Nolen and Teva; a brother, Robert Reigel of James City; two sisters, Linda Gatewood and her husband, Randy and Diane Erickson, all of Kane; a step-sister, Lois Green of Fredericksburg, Va.; and a step-brother, Daniel Bergstrom of Smyrna, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-brother, Donald Bergstrom.
Friends of Mr. Reigel will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Kane.
